The Sugar & Stilettos Charitable Foundation raises funds for Los Angeles community food programs to help end the issues of hunger and food insecurity. In early 2009, Nanci Christopher put together a small baking club in the hopes of sharing family recipes and stories with close friends. Who knew that years later, this fondness for sweet treats would turn into a movement to help L.A. families in need?
As a small grass-roots community organization, The S&S Charitable Foundation has established a close relationship with The Westside Food Bank -- the sole beneficiary of its efforts -- and continues to look forward to making a difference from its own backyard. What differentiates S&S from other organizations? Is it the tiaras? Sure. Is it the high-heels? Why not? Is it the custom sashes and crowing ceremony? Of course.
Or is it the close-knit group of hard-working women who have grown into a family, volunteering their time to put together an experience that leaves their community feeling more supported and full of joy than ever before. Oh that? OOH LA LA!
